When Morpheus visits,
I kiss his feet
He’s not around much
these days
Same with my Muse
I have to hunt them down
with sniffer dogs
I never find them;
they find me
when I’m not looking
Who knows where
they are now
maybe a dirty weekend
Morph and my Muse
They have it good
Bet he sings her to sleep
in soporific tones,
serves her breakfast in bed;
squiggly squid
to up her inktake
and eggs
to egg her on
while I sweat it out here,
trying to WRITE
with no SLEEP
